Street Catz is streetwear for people getting off the treadmill. Entrepreneurial, self-directed, working hours nobody else set. We built the brand, the identity and the product system for it.
The strike. One gold diagonal, one weight, always through the middle of one word.
Streetwear is the most crowded category in apparel, and most of it runs on borrowed signals. A logo, a box, a drop, a queue. Borrowed signals do not build a brand. They build a lookalike.
The people this one is for are not buying a logo. They are buying a position: off the treadmill, out of the rat race, working hours nobody else set. That is a real thing to say.
The difficulty was never what to say. It was how to say it without a slogan, because a slogan is a caption, and captions do not survive past one season.
Do not write the belief down. Cross out the thing being refused.
One gold diagonal, drawn straight through a single word. Nothing needs explaining. Anyone reading it understands both what is being rejected and that the rejection has already happened.
It works as three things at once: a graphic device, a copy system, and a product line. Any word the audience is walking away from becomes a garment, so the brand can run for years without repeating itself.
It also solves the tone. A struck word is confident without shouting. It does not claim you are winning. It says you are finished with something.
The strike. One gold diagonal, one weight, always through the middle of one word. It is the logo, the message and the product decision in a single mark.
An interlocking SC monogram. Squared and mechanical, small enough to work as a chest hit, a hardware tag and a favicon.
The cat. A black cat with gold eyes, watching over the edge of a surface. Nocturnal, street, self-employed. It appears when you open the box, not on the front of it.
Black, camel and white. Camel does the work red does elsewhere: it appears once, and only on the thing being struck out.
Type set at mixed sizes on one line. Emphasis comes from scale rather than italics or colour, so a sentence carries its own stress and the palette stays clean.
A language system, not a tagline. Short enough to print on a sleeve, specific enough to belong to one brand.
Product first, graphic second. Jacket, hoodie, cropped hood, tees. The strike was drawn to sit on a back panel before it was ever drawn on a screen.
A box that performs. Black outside, camel inside, the cat looking out at you when the lid comes off.
One gesture, so a supplier can print it. One accent colour, so it survives any garment. Four words a customer can repeat.
The system is deliberately open ended. Every word the audience is walking away from is a garment that has not been made yet, so the brand can extend without a redesign and without repeating itself.
The identity and the 2024 collection are complete. There are no sales figures on this page because they are the client’s to publish, not ours.
Broke. Nine to five. Whatever you are done with, worn once and struck through.
